If you are in need of care, please reach out to us by phone after hours, or by email during open hours! You can also book your own appointment online if you wish. Our services have expanded since formerly being known as Grover Dental Center. These new services include: Root canals, Digitally guided Implants, Wisdom teeth extractions, General surgery including tooth extraction/bone preservation/ridge augmentation, Sedation, and 3D printed night guards, (Gingival grafting coming soon).
Carry Drive Dental has a rich history of placing patients first. Previously known as Grover Dental Center, founded by Dr. R.K. Grover in 2000, we have been serving patients for close to 25 years! Dr. Grover was looking for new owners that could continue the care that he focused so strongly on. When Dr. Labonne and Dr. O’Connor met Dr. Grover, both parties had similar passion for treating patients like family and this made the transition easy!
Today, Carry Drive Dental cares for people in Medicine Hat, Redcliff, Dunmore, Irvine, Brooks, Bow islands, Coaldale, Swift Current, Foremost, Taber, and many other communities. We accept all insurance types (including the Canadian Dental Care Plan - also known as CDCP) and are pleased to offer treatment coordinators that will help out with your insurance coordination of benefits and offer direct billing to insurance plans!
Carry Drive Dental looks forward to welcoming you and your family. Please contact us by phone (403)526-7555, email reception@carrydrivedental.ca or use our book online tab to set up an appointment.
Dr O’Connor, was born and raised in Cork, Ireland. She grew up on a farm with 6 siblings. Before dentistry she worked hard on her family farm milking cows and driving tractors. She met her husband while studying dentistry and followed him back to Canada (he gained a wife and dental degree from his time in Ireland). Medicine Hat is known for its long summers, the sunniest city in Canada, and a nice city to raise a family; Dr O’Connor shortly after moving here called it home. Dr O’Connor recently received her Canadian citizenship and is very proud to be an Irish-Canadian.
Dr. O’Connor graduated from Cork University Dental Hospital with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. She enjoys the personal aspect of dentistry as well as carrying out many procedures from fillings, crown and bridge, root canal therapy, extractions, pediatric dentistry, implants to cosmetic dentistry.
Dr O’Connor has a great love for animals and she bought an acreage to have enough space to fulfil her love of animals. She cares for goats, ducks, cats, dogs, fish (and likely more to come over time, cows have been in the talks). She enjoys taking her dogs for daily walks to help her unwind from her busy days.
On her time off, Dr. O’Connor likes to be active by working out, running and competing in squash. She enjoys playing golf with her husband over the summer months. Dr O’Connor enjoys hiking and exploring Banff and Waterton parks. She is a member of the medicine hat astronomy club where she enjoys viewing planets, moons and stars in outer space.
I moved to Medicine Hat in 2020 to be a Dentist with my wife. We both loved the city and what it has to offer. Our patients are the heart of who we serve on a daily basis. After 5 years of being in Medicine Hat, we knew we wanted to call it home. The next step was investing back into Medicine Hat and buying a clinic we could call our own. Locally owned by your dentist. My wife and I take continuous education every year to provide comprehensive treatment for all ages within your family, from A to Z - including: fillings, root canals, Invisalign, Dentures, Implants, Crowns, Bridges, Smile Makeovers, Periodontal Therapy, Oral cancer checks, sedation, General Anesthetic, dental surgery/extractions. We are your one stop clinic for all things dental. We keep up with the latest technologies. Some examples of that include: guided dental implant surgeries; where we plan the orientation of the dental implant digitally - using 3-dimensional x-rays, intra-oral scans and a 3D printer. All done before you take a seat in the chair. We don't outsource any of the planning. Why should we? You’re paying for the dentist, let's keep it that way.
Personally, Dr. Labonne lives with his wife Dr. O’Connor near Seven Persons on their acreage. Together they have 2 dogs: Dottie (border collie) and Luna (German Shepherd); a koi fish pond measuring 80x30 feet with too many fish to count; 4 goats (Billy, MJ, Nugget, MIA); several ducks, 2 indoor cats (Jazzy a rescue and Poupone), and a ton of outdoor barn cats! Dr. O’Connor’s love for animals creates an open door policy for them to keep arriving at the acreage. Dr. Labonne enjoys playing golf during the summers and spends his summers cutting his lawn to resemble the courses he plays on. He also works around the acreage keeping things updated. He always has projects and enjoys outdoor work as he was born and raised in Dawson Creek. He has worked in numerous industries including Oil and Gas, Forestry, and Construction. He hopes to remain in Medicine Hat until the day he retires.
